Alfie

The Holloways
Jam by the Lake
Van Mildert College
Durham
Saturday 13 June 2009

It was so good to see him again, Alfie says, oh how long has it been since i saw you last? and it's been just over a whole year, when they played with the ballarats at newcastle uni last may. you want to take my picture? he said, i said yes please! and got this one. He was telling me what happened since i saw him last and i hadn't realised they had a fire in the basement of nambucca's in january and lost EVERYTHING!! if not for the kindness of some people and various charities, they would still have nothing. it was carnage, drum and guitar cases melted into the instruments. how utterly sad, they now have two new members and some new gear, which is better than their old gear. unfortunately though, the drummer's bass pedal was stolen at this gig! and it cost £300. such a shame, because it really was a glorious day otherwise.

I remember we would hide behind the trees, smoking cigarettes until our throats would bleed;
Those were the days. [xx]

I wish i was a Warhol silkscreen
Hanging on the wall
Or Little Joe, or maybe Lou
I'd love to be them all.
Then all New York City's broken hearts
And secrets would be mine
I'd put you on a movie reel
And that would be just fine.

Yeah, I was looking at the full shot and was like, "Huh, is that Jazzy?"

And you're totally welcome, love.

sweet. i think i just commented that i love hearing the stories behind photos. sucks that all their stuff got burned up. and then the pedal stolen... lame.

ALL of my clothes were stolen over christmas while on vacation. they took the whole suitcase full of all my clothes, hygienic stuff, wires to connect computer things to camera things.... all of it. so lame.

great candid. :D

yes, fortunately it was insured. i mean, i have a relationship with my clothes, they're all old and came from different places and people and whatnot. so even though i got new clothes that fit me better than the ones i lost, it was really upsetting. but, i also got a brand new macbook, so i can't complain.

he does :)
